SOOP (co-CEOs Choi Young-woo and Lee Min-won) is expanding its esports partnership with Google Play and continuing its collaboration on the 'FC Online' esports league, 'FSL (FC Online Super Champions League).'
Starting this season, Google Play will serve as an official sponsor of the 'FSL,' the FC Online esports league hosted and organized by Nexon and operated and produced by SOOP. The FSL is the premier FC Online esports league run through a partnership between Nexon and SOOP. It has grown into the definitive league for FC Online esports, establishing itself as a stage for the top players in the country. Matches for this season will begin with a group nomination ceremony on Monday, the 29th, at the Jamsil DN Colosseum, with the champion to be crowned in the finals on September 6.
Google Play has maintained its esports collaboration with SOOP by serving as the title sponsor for 'Google Play ASL Season 20' and 'Google Play ASL Season 21.' The 'Google Play ASL Season 21' finals, held last May at KINTEX in Ilsan, took place at the PlayX4 venue and drew significant attention from esports fans.
In the second half of the year, the 'Google Play ASL Season 22' finals will be held at the Lotte World Ice Garden in Jamsil. Being prepared on the largest scale to date, these finals will take place in a more spacious venue, providing fans on-site with an even more immersive esports viewing experience.
With this sponsorship, SOOP has expanded its scope of cooperation with Google Play beyond StarCraft esports to include FC Online. By supporting SOOP's major esports leagues—from ASL to FSL—Google Play will continue to present diverse esports content to users.
SOOP operates various self-produced esports leagues, including ASL, GSL, and FSL, and plans to continue its collaboration with Google Play to further expand the domestic esports ecosystem.
