SEGA Publishing Korea (CEO Go Saito) announced that it unveiled a trailer for the new characters 'Bakunawa' and 'Killer' from the upcoming title 'Virtua Fighter Crossroads,' scheduled for release in 2027, at EVO 2026 in Las Vegas.
The trailer depicts a series of attacks on fighters that have rocked the game's setting, the fighting city of Villasapara, and highlights the conflict between the mysterious man behind the incidents, "Bakunawa," and those pursuing his identity, Pai Chan and Cielo. The video features intense combat sequences alongside scenes that signal the start of the game's main narrative.
'Virtua Fighter Crossroads' is a fighting adventure game that blends the series' traditional, simple yet deep competitive battles with the immersive, heavy-hitting storytelling characteristic of RGG Studio. The game features an omnibus-style story centered on four protagonists, weaving a drama where their individual beliefs, bonds, and destinies intersect.
The story is set in 'Villasapara,' a fictional city on a tropical island in Southeast Asia. Known as the city of martial arts, players can explore various districts—including the city center, entertainment districts, and resort areas—while building relationships with the local inhabitants through main and side stories.
Players can experience a variety of battle scenarios, including multi-opponent brawls and boss fights linked to the story, with full support for online competitive play. These features allow players to enjoy the tense, high-stakes combat that has evolved to a new level for the series.
Further details on this new 'Virtua Fighter' experience, where story and battle are seamlessly integrated, will be continuously updated via the official website and YouTube channel.
