On the 13rd, kt Rolster was defeated 0-3 by Gen.G Esports in the '2026 LoL Champions Korea (LCK)' Road to MSI Round 4, held at the Wonju DB Promy Arena in Wonju, Gangwon Province, failing to qualify for the MSI. While they created many brilliant moments in the early game, they ultimately could not overcome Gen.G Esports' solid late-game macro and teamfight prowess.
In the post-match press conference, Head Coach Go Dong-bin summarized the day's performance: "There were sets we could have won, so it is very disappointing to lose 0-3. We executed our early-to-mid game plans as prepared, but we couldn't close it out. The reason for our loss was not being more proactive when we had the lead."
The team seemed to lose momentum after a comeback loss in Game 1, where they had held a lead of over 7k gold. The fact that their prepared picks, Lee Sin and Camille, failed to translate into victory was also a significant factor. Go explained, "There were many disappointing aspects, but beyond just the Smite fights for objectives, there were other options available. It is regrettable that the opponent managed to break through even from difficult positions, while we failed to hold our ground even in favorable ones."
Finally, Head Coach Go concluded the interview by saying, "Our performance has been quite poor since the start of the second round. If we had won today, we could have called it a valuable experience, but because we lost, it is all the more disappointing. I don't think we will be able to advance easily if we continue to play like this in the remaining third and fourth rounds. We will prepare more and work harder."
