Kiwoom DRX defeated Hanjin Brion 2-1 in the second round of the '2026 LoL Champions Korea (LCK)' regular season held at the Jongno Chichijik LoL Park on the 17th. They faced Hanjin Brion, who were on a five-game winning streak, while continuing their own losing streak; however, as if reliving the memories of the previous first round, Kiwoom DRX secured the victory.

Below is the full interview with 'Ucal' Son Woo-hyun, who won the POM award.

Q. You succeeded in breaking the losing streak after a close full-set match. What are your thoughts?

'Ucal': I don't think our performance itself was bad, but since we kept losing matches due to the 'we lost but fought well' narrative, I felt that we eventually needed a definite victory. I feel good that this victory came at a good time today.

Q. Q. With today's victory, you always play a full-set match against Hanjin Brion. Did you expect today's game to be as intense as it was? 'Ucal': I expected it to some extent. I felt that Brion's performance has improved significantly compared to the Cup tournament. I think I was very nervous because I came in feeling like I was facing a strong team. Q. With today's win, you are currently undefeated in all four matches against Hanjin Brion this year. Q. In Set 2, you picked Ryze, your most-played champion. Was your goal to prevent the opposing team, 'Roamer' Jo Woo-jin, from picking it, since he is good at it? Q. Rather than worrying about that, I thought the game would be easy against Hanjin Brion if we locked down the bottom lane. So, I tried to put as much pressure on the bottom lane as possible with Ryze. Q. You faced Anivia with Ryze; isn't the matchup against Anivia better? 'Ucal': It was fine because I was very confident with the champion Ryze. Q. You picked Taliyah for the first time this season in Game 3. 'Ucal': This is also because my attention was focused more on the opposing ADC, Park Jin-seong ('Teddy'), rather than the opposing mid-jungle. 'Teddy's' carry potential is so good that I picked him with the intention of suppressing that. Q. In Set 3, the opposing bottom lane picked support Elise, which is Namgung Seong-hun's ('Namgung') signature pick. How did you plan to counter the Caitlyn-Elise combination as a team? 'Ucal': We designed the strategy to hold out and fight as much as possible in the bottom lane first, and then apply pressure using Taliyah afterwards. Q. The last set was tight with a close kill score, making it difficult to predict the winner. At what point did you become certain of victory? 'Ucal': I really couldn't be sure of victory even right up until the match ended. Just like in the previous match against 'Phase' Kim Su-hwan's Caitlyn, there are many times when the game goes awry once it reaches the late stages, so I couldn't be certain of victory until we destroyed the Nexus. Q. What do you think is the biggest change in the team since the home front in Hanoi, Vietnam? 'Ucal': I think everyone's desperation has really increased since the players experienced the big stage. Q. The next opponent is T1. "What is your mindset going into this match?" 'Ucal': "I naturally expect the match against T1 to be a much tougher fight than today. However, since we have broken our losing streak, we will prepare well and aim for a winning streak."
