In the match between Hanwha Life Esports and kt Rolster during the second round of the 2026 LoL Champions Korea (LCK) regular season, held at LoL PARK in Jongno on the 17th, kt Rolster secured a 2-1 victory. After splitting the first two sets, kt Rolster decisively broke the bottom lane's balance early in the final third set, leading to their win. With this victory, kt Rolster has officially secured their spot in the Legend Group.
In the first set, kt Rolster got off to a strong start by picking up three kills across the bottom and mid lanes. Hanwha Life Esports fought back; after Gumayusi (Lee Min-hyeong)'s Miss Fortune turned the tide with a solo kill on the opposing ADC, Hanwha Life Esports leveraged their numerical advantage in a dragon teamfight—where only Zeus (Choi Woo-je)'s Sion joined—to trade kills 3-to-1. kt Rolster minimized the damage by stealing the dragon and taking down the top tier-1 tower, and they also managed to pick off Zeka (Kim Geon-woo)'s Akali in a side lane.
The teams clashed head-on at the dragon pit, where Sion was the sole survivor, securing the objective for Hanwha Life and breaking kt Rolster's dragon stack. However, kt Rolster responded with a chaotic teamfight led by Perfect’s Jayce, scoring consecutive kills. Despite a brief mishap involving an execution, they secured Baron. With the buff, they marched down the mid lane, wiped out Hanwha Life, and took the first set.
In the second set, a furious Hanwha Life Esports came out swinging. The snowball began when Kanavi (Seo Jin-hyeok)'s Vi ganked the bottom lane, allowing Gumayusi's Ziggs to pick up a double kill. While Ziggs held his own, Vi and Delight (Yoo Hwan-joong)'s Pyke roamed the map to exert pressure. Through repeated skirmishes, Hanwha Life Esports steadily widened the gap, eventually securing the second set with a massive 17k gold lead.
In the decisive third set, the first blood came from the bottom lane. Cuzz (Moon Woo-chan)'s Skarner, having been forced into the bottom lane after being chased out of the enemy jungle, successfully executed a gank. Aiming's Lucian, who picked up a double kill, grew rapidly after securing two more kills in a subsequent 2v2 skirmish. Although Zeka's Aurora managed to take down Lucian once, the gold gap between the ADCs was already 2000 by the 10-minute mark. kt Rolster continued to force engagements around Lucian, steadily extending their lead.
Under pressure, Hanwha Life Esports made several clumsy plays that led to them repeatedly falling victim to counterattacks. During this process, Bdd (Kwak Bo-seong)'s Viktor also picked up multiple kills, accelerating his growth. Despite a brief stumble when Lucian was caught out again, the still-dominant kt Rolster picked off Delight's Milio and secured Baron. With the Baron buff, kt Rolster marched into the mid lane, successfully countered the opponent's initiation, and pushed straight through to destroy the Nexus.
