T1 secured a 2-0 victory against DN Supers in their 2026 League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) regular season Round 1 match, held at LoL PARK in Jongno on the 10th. In the first set, a dominant performance by Moon 'Oner' Hyeon-joon on Lee Sin led to a clean win without any major crises. In the second set, despite a difficult start, a single well-timed Mega Gnar ultimate from Choi 'Doran' Hyun-joon completed a thrilling comeback.
In an interview with INVEN after the match, 'Faker' began by saying, "We were in a situation where we needed a win after two previous losses. Winning 2-0 will be a big help for our standing in the rankings moving forward."
As 'Faker' noted, T1 now holds a 2-2 record, having alternated between wins and losses since their opening match defeat. They have yet to put together a winning streak. He remarked, "Building momentum through a winning streak can certainly help the team's performance. However, we still have areas where we are lacking. If we focus on those and prepare diligently, I believe the results will follow."
When asked how the team prepared for the match against DN Supers, 'Faker' replied, "For this match, we focused more on our own gameplay rather than the opponent's strategy, as we felt there were still many things we needed to sync up."
In the first set, the snowball effect began with Orianna's lane priority, which translated into growth and impact for Lee Sin. 'Faker' explained, "It was a textbook game. We scored early, didn't make many mistakes, and were able to naturally snowball the lead. The Orianna-Azir matchup really depends on how you play it; today, it yielded a good result."
Conversely, the second set was a comeback. The team started at a disadvantage in the laning phase but turned it around through a teamfight. Regarding this, 'Faker' said, "We took a small hit from level 1, and a few more mistakes in the laning phase made things difficult. Still, since we were already leading 1-0, I just tried to stay focused on my role. We were able to win thanks to our attention to detail during teamfights."
Recently, news that a 'Faker' commemorative stamp will be issued this October has become a hot topic. Following his receipt of the Blue Dragon Medal for sports merit in January, this commemorative stamp marks another 'first for an esports athlete' title for him.
'Faker' shared his thoughts, saying, "Since the commemorative stamp is being released, I hope many people will take an interest in it. I am also very grateful that they created a stamp for me. It makes me want to work even harder. To be honest, I haven't used stamps much myself, but I know there are collectors, and I think it carries great symbolic meaning, so it is truly significant to me."
