Players who thrilled fans during the early days of domestic League of Legends esports are gathering to recreate the 'Era of Romance.'

Riot Games, the organizer of the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK), has announced the player lineup for the 'LCK Legends Match,' which will take place on Tuesday, August 4, at LoL PARK in Jongno-gu, Seoul.

The LCK Legend Match will feature a showdown between 'Team Samsung Telecom' and 'Team CJ Rolster,' consisting of players who achieved remarkable success in the early days of LoL esports. 'Team Samsung Telecom' includes top laner 'Looper' Jang Hyeong-seok, jungler 'Spirit' Lee Da-yoon, mid laner 'Pawn' Heo Won-seok, and Supporter 'Heart' Lee Kwan-hyung, along with 'Piglet' Chae Gwang-jin, who played as a bot laner during SK Telecom T1's 2013 World Championship victory. Jang and Heo were teammates on Samsung Galaxy White, winning the 2014 World Championship, while Lee Da-yoon and Lee Kwan-hyung lifted the trophy at the 2014 LoL Champions Spring as members of Samsung Galaxy Blue.

'Team CJ Rolster' is composed of players known for unforgettable, iconic plays. Top laner 'MakNooN' Yoon Ha-woon is famous for popularizing fountain dives, while jungler 'inSec' Choi In-seok showcased fantastic skill combos on Lee Sin, coining the term 'inSec Kick.' Mid laner 'Kuro' Lee Seo-haeng led the Tigers dynasty alongside Supporter 'GorillA' Kang Beom-hyun, and bot laner 'Captain Jack' Kang Hyung-woo was once hailed for his peak mechanical prowess after executing four consecutive crowd control cleanses on Sivir.

These legendary players, whom early LoL esports fans will never forget, will face off in a 'League of Legends Classic (LoL Classic)' match. Riot Games previously held an event match using 'LoL Classic' on Sunday, the 12nd, at the 2026 Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) finals held at the Daejeon Convention Center (DCC) Exhibition Hall 2 in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon. Fans at the venue enjoyed the debut of the LoL Classic event match, feeling as though they had stepped into a time machine to relive memories from over a decade ago.

This LCK Legend Match is planned as an extension of that LoL Classic event. Legendary players who laid the foundation for the LCK to reach the pinnacle of global LoL esports will gather to offer a sense of nostalgia for the 'Era of Romance.' The broadcast will feature current LCK caster Jeon Yong-jun and commentator 'CloudTemplar' Lee Hyun-woo, joined by former commentator Kang Min. The English broadcast will feature Brendan 'Valdes' Valdes and Nick 'LS' De Cesare, who previously worked together in 2017.
