The Apex Legends Global Series is heading into the home stretch as Split 2 of Year 5 begins this weekend. Following VKG’s dominant win at the Midseason Playoffs, attention now shifts to the last round of Pro League competition before the ALGS Championship in Sapporo, Japan, on Jan. 15-18, 2026.
This split represents the final online series before the championship stage, and it carries extra weight. Teams can now secure a direct berth to Sapporo by winning their region’s Pro League or Regional Finals. For everyone else, every match offers valuable Championship Points that could determine whether they qualify.
EYNTK: Split 2 Begins and the Road to Champs
Split 2 maintains its round-robin structure, with 30 teams per region competing across six series and 36 matches for a share of the $500,000 prize pool. The top 20 from each region advance to Match Point Regional Finals in mid-October.
Beyond the Pro League, the Challenger Circuit is also underway, offering amateur squads a path through the Last Chance Qualifier (Oct. 17-19) for one final shot at making it to Japan.
Broadcasts and Where to Watch: Fans can follow the action on the official ALGS Twitch and YouTube channels or through FACEIT’s multiview platform, which allows streaming of up to four perspectives at once. Watch parties and co-streams in multiple languages will also run throughout the split.
Broadcast Talent: Familiar names like Evan “Raynday” Raynr, Tiffany “Spidertiff” Jane, Mark “Onset” Hatcher, and Victoria “VikkiKitty” Perez headline the English broadcast team, delivering analysis and commentary each match day.
Twitch Drops: Players can earn the “False Call” cosmetic by tuning in during kickoff weekend on Aug. 31, with the reward dropping after 30 minutes of viewing.
Split 2 begins Aug. 30 in APAC South and Aug. 31 in the Americas, EMEA, and APAC North, running through Oct. 12. With direct qualification on the line and the final chance to earn points, Split 2 sets the stage for an explosive finish to the ALGS season.
