'IfSunSets,' an open-world survival RPG published by Smilegate and developed by Polymorph Studio, has surpassed 100k cumulative sales and players just over a year after its Steam Early Access launch. Polymorph Studio announced the milestone on the 21st.

'IfSunSets' is an open-world survival RPG sandbox set on the mysterious island of 'Luminora.' Players must survive by exploring diverse environments, gathering resources, and building bases. The game has expanded its global user base through high freedom of play and consistent content updates, featuring gameplay that blends cooperation and combat.
The milestone was driven by a major marine content update released on the 29th of last month. Players can now become pirates, build their own pirate ships, and engage in naval artillery battles. New underwater exploration content has also been added, providing more ways to secure items and materials necessary for survival and growth. Following this update, the number of users exceeded 100,000, particularly in overseas markets such as North America and Germany.
The two companies plan to continue improving user convenience based on feedback and releasing further marine content updates. They aim to refine the main questline leading to the ending and add the 'Kraken' final boss as part of ongoing polish work, with a full global launch scheduled for the second half of 2026 on Steam, STOVE, and the Epic Games Store.
Chae Moon-seok, Director at Polymorph Studio, stated, "This marine update was more than just adding content; it was about laying the foundation to elevate the game's scale and move in a bigger direction. Based on the feedback and support from our users, we will do our best to focus on fun and quality to deliver a game that will be remembered for a long time."
