T1 fell 0-2 to kt Rolster in the Legend Group of the 2026 LoL Champions Korea (LCK) regular season Round 3, held at LoL PARK in Jongno on the 29th. Despite holding a lead in global gold, the team repeatedly faltered in critical moments, leading to losses in both sets.
After the match, Acting Head Coach Lim Jae-hyeon visited the press room and said, "I am very sorry that we started the third round with such a poor performance. There are many reasons for this defeat. When our initial plans go wrong, we struggle to pivot, and we need to improve our coordination during team fights," he said, summarizing the day's match.
Recently, T1 has frequently seen leads slip away after losing team fights. Regarding this, Lim explained, "Even when we are ahead in gold, we fail to fully utilize our numbers. There are many aspects of our macro play that need fixing. Because of these issues, we often end up fighting without the advantage that our gold lead should provide."
He continued, "I think our focus during team fights is off, and we aren't choosing our battlegrounds well. We need to secure vision before engaging, but our coordination in that area is also lacking. There are many complex factors involved. I believe we need to go back to basics and rebuild step by step," he said, offering a candid assessment of the team's current state.
Doran (Choi Hyun-joon), who joined the post-match press conference, said, "Today's loss felt similar to our recent matches. I believe the recurring mistakes have lowered the team's confidence, which is impacting our performance. We need to have more in-depth discussions about the game among ourselves."
When asked if the grueling tournament and team schedule were affecting their physical condition, Doran replied, "There are teams that have played more matches than us, so I don't want to look for excuses there. I believe the team is overloaded for other reasons." He remained cautious, adding, "It's an internal team matter, so I can't go into detail. We have identified the reasons within the squad and have been talking a lot about how to improve them."
