Gen.G jungler 'Canyon' Kim Geon-bu concluded his EWC 2026 journey on a high note, finishing in third place. Although he missed out on the finals, he successfully turned the momentum around by winning the third-place match against T1 on the final day.

Reflecting on the EWC journey, 'Canyon' Kim Geon-bu said, "It is true that there were many aspects of our performance that were disappointing throughout the tournament. However, I learned a lot from our losses. There is still plenty of room for growth, so I am grateful for the experience and enjoyed the opportunity to play on such a big stage."

Regarding improvements made for today's match against T1, he said, "Reviewing the games we lost or played poorly in, I felt we were too hesitant. Before today's match, we promised each other, 'Let's not hesitate; if we think a play is right, let's just go for it,' and that worked out well."

When asked about the upsets in this tournament—where favorites like Gen.G, T1, and Hanwha Life were eliminated and Dplus KIA and Karmine Corp (KC) reached the finals—'Canyon' shared his thoughts: "These days, the skill levels of all teams have leveled up, so it wouldn't be strange for any team to win. Also, since it's a best-of-three (Bo3) format, there are more variables than in a best-of-five (Bo5), and I think those factors combined to create these upsets."

Meanwhile, he offered warm support to his former teammates currently competing in the finals. He previously played alongside both Dplus KIA's 'ShowMaker' Heo Su, who defeated Gen.G to reach the finals, and his final opponent, Karmine Corp's 'Canna' Kim Chang-dong. "I met both players at the hotel and exchanged brief greetings," he said. "I hope the players I used to be on a team with can both perform well on the big stage of the finals," he added.

Although we finished this EWC with a slightly disappointing result, I want to use what we learned here to achieve great results in the remaining tournaments and make our fans happy."
