The main trailer for the rebooted live-action Resident Evil film, 'Resident Evil: Night Zero,' has been released.

Sony Pictures released the main trailer for director Zach Cregger's 'Resident Evil: Night Zero,' which is set for a September release, via its official YouTube channel. Unlike the previous teaser, which only offered a glimpse of the overall atmosphere and direction, this video provides a look at the early story and plot progression of the game.

The main trailer captures the suspenseful events that unfold as the protagonist, Brian, a medical delivery driver, transports something special to Raccoon City General Hospital. While on his way to Raccoon City, Brian is on the phone with his girlfriend, Michelle, when he hits someone with his car. After entering an empty house and finding himself unable to contact anyone, he becomes terrified upon seeing 'someone' rushing toward him and begins searching for bullets.

Following this, a variety of scenes appear in quick succession with thrilling direction, revealing several elements that evoke the game series.

The most notable element is the typewriter. In the room of the empty house Brian enters, one can spot a typewriter—an iconic staple of the Resident Evil series. Additionally, the shotgun ammunition Brian searches for bears the same brand as that found in the games.

As with the teaser, the main trailer highlights a horror style that distinguishes it from the previous film series. While this film features an original story unrelated to the games or the existing film franchise, director Zach Cregger has previously stated that he intends to capture the atmosphere of the games.

Resident Evil: Night Zero' is directed and written by Zach Cregger, known for the films 'Barbarian' and 'Weapons,' with Shay Hatten of 'Ballerina' serving as a co-writer.
