Mobile game publisher Super Planet (CEO Park Sung-hoon) announced on the 4th that its new idle mobile RPG, 'Dungeon Record', has officially launched in over 170 countries worldwide via the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
'Dungeon Record' is based on the popular webtoon of the same name by Jaedam Media, which has consistently ranked high in the fantasy genre with over 21.7 million cumulative views across KakaoPage and Kakao Webtoon. The work harmonizes the solid original web novel by Glump with the stylish adaptation and artwork of Son Min-woo. It has also built global recognition through serialization on major overseas platforms such as Tapas in North America and Piccoma in Japan.
Now officially released, 'Dungeon Record' showcases the essence of a hybrid idle RPG by implementing the core narratives of the original work—'Labyrinth Growth' and 'Companion Liberation'—through unique systems.
■ A Blend of Clicker and Idle RPG... Intuitive Controls and Deep Progression
The game harmoniously combines the intuitive, tactile feel of the clicker genre, which anyone can easily pick up, with the multi-layered growth model of an idle RPG. Beyond the simple action of tapping to defeat monsters on a vertical screen designed for one-handed play, the game ensures long-term engagement through diverse growth paths such as equipment summoning and fusing, altar offerings, and an artifact system. Players can also enjoy strategic combat by combining skills from four elements: Fire, Ice, Lightning, and Neutral.
■ 'Episode-Based Companion System' Adapted from the Original Story
Distinguishing itself from existing clicker RPGs, the game adopts a structure where players follow the original's compelling episodes to liberate cursed companions one by one. A total of 18 characters from the original, including 'Dominique' and 'Rickshasha', appear with unique attributes and exclusive equipment, offering the joy of strategic resource allocation and collection.
■ Unique Meta-Progression Reflecting the IP Worldview: 'Labyrinth Growth'
Players must develop not only their characters but also their base, the Labyrinth. When reaching a stage limit, players can convert resources obtained through 'Altar Offerings' into Labyrinth energy, gaining enhancement effects to challenge higher difficulties in an organic, cyclical growth loop.
A representative from Super Planet stated, "We are delighted to announce the official launch of Jaedam Media's hit webtoon, 'Dungeon Record'. We aim to establish this as a well-made game that captivates global users through a hybrid business model that simultaneously addresses the high-spending Asian market and the ad-based revenue-focused Western market."
Meanwhile, to celebrate the official launch, 'Dungeon Record' is hosting a variety of in-game launch events for all users who download the game. Detailed information and event news can be found in the official community.
