XD has launched a 2nd-anniversary update for its SRPG 'Sword of Convallaria' (SOC), featuring new story content and strategic gameplay elements.

'Sword of Convallaria' is an SRPG that blends the feel of classic console RPGs with pixel art graphics. Players take on the role of a mercenary leader in 'Iria,' a kingdom rich in resources but torn apart by civil war, and embark on a journey to save the nation. The game features a multi-ending structure where players manage their mercenary group, recruit allies, and make key decisions that influence the story, combat style, and final outcome.

Its signature mode, 'Spiral of Destinies,' allows players to enjoy the story like a standalone console RPG without the need for microtransactions, with a narrative structure that branches based on player choices.

The 2nd-anniversary update introduces a new 'Spiral of Destinies' chapter, 'Frozen Path of Blood.' Set in the snowy Lucia Ice Fields, the story expands the game's world by focusing on the lives, legends, and prophecies of the people surviving in this extreme environment. A follow-up story, 'Heart of the Ice Field,' is also scheduled for release.

The combat system is also evolving. Enemies in the Lucia Ice Fields possess a new 'Natural Protection' mechanism, making strategic play—such as identifying enemy weaknesses, utilizing terrain and objects, and choosing between melee and ranged attacks—more important than raw combat power. New characters Anna, Rognilda, Yulia, and Alexei (Path of Snow) will be added sequentially, expanding the range of possible party combinations.

Anniversary events and rewards are also available. Players can earn limited-edition profile frames and backgrounds through a retrospective event, and receive commemorative mail rewards, daily free 10-pulls during the event period, and attendance bonuses. Growth support events and rewards for new and returning players have also been expanded.

Additionally, new strategic content such as 'Chase in the Ice Field' and the Lucia-themed roguelike mode 'Corridor of Bitter Cold' will be added in sequence. The development team stated that starting with this update, they plan to continuously expand the 'Spiral of Destinies' world and maintain their long-term service roadmap by consistently introducing new stories and strategic content.
