HP has launched the 'HP EliteBoard G1a,' a unique PC that functions like a portable keyboard.

HP describes the device as an 'ultra-compact portable desktop built into a keyboard, designed to provide a desktop-class work environment in any space.' The model was first officially unveiled at CES 2026. While it may appear at first glance to prioritize portability above all else, it is surprisingly well-equipped under the hood.
It is powered by an AMD Ryzen™ AI 7 PRO 350 CPU, utilizing integrated AMD Radeon™ 860M graphics. It also features 32GB of DDR5-5600MT/s RAM and 1TB of PCIe® NVMe™ SSD storage. Essentially a PC in keyboard form, it weighs just 726g, boasting extreme portability that truly earns it the title of a portable PC. However, users must provide their own method for video output, such as connecting to a portable monitor. The primary advantage is that, as long as a display is available, the device provides a consistent work environment anywhere.
The HP EliteBoard features a water-resistant, easy-to-clean keyboard design and is built with the goal of passing MIL-STD 810 testing. HP also noted that the device is designed with a modular approach to simplify maintenance, allowing for easy replacement of the top-mounted keyboard, RAM, SSD, and an optional battery.
Video output is supported exclusively via USB-C, requiring an adapter if necessary, and the device includes its own internal cooling system to manage heat. Furthermore, with a built-in battery, it can be used for work anywhere, provided you have a display to connect to.
The HP EliteBoard is currently listed as a business desktop on the official website, with a price tag of approximately ₩3.5 million.
