Rare Grade Team Composition
Building the Basic three Teams: Attack, Magic, and Defense Decks
In the Common grade, the first stage of Total War, you simply need to deploy your two strongest teams—usually a attack deck and a magic deck. The real competition begins at the Rare grade, where you are required to field three teams.
For the Rare grade, a standard setup consists of one attack deck, one magic deck, and one defense deck. If your hero pool is sufficient, the core structure for all three teams is fairly set, though specific heroes may vary slightly depending on your roster and equipment settings.
The attack deck typically utilizes Karl Heron, Awakened Dellons, Awakened Orca, Lu Bu, Radgrid, and Zeo. Awakened Dellons and Lu Bu handle the damage output, while Karl Heron and Radgrid provide support through their passives. The newly added Awakened Orca acts as a 'totem,' forcing Karl Heron and Radgrid to focus on their roles by increasing their skill cooldowns. Orca is highly valuable, as it possesses a passive that increases ally effect accuracy while reducing the enemy's effect application probability and turn-based buffs.
The magic deck consists of Awakened Skuld, Freja, Milla, Reginleif, Omok, and Yu. This formation centers on Awakened Skuld, with Milla and Reginleif included, and Freja paired with Omok. While Awakened Sylvesta is sometimes used in place of Omok to serve as a core damage dealer alongside Freja, Omok is currently the preferred choice this season. The strategy involves maximizing speed to trigger Skuld's skill cooldown increase on enemies, followed by Freja's skill 1 and 2. Omok provides a magic attack power increase passive and additional support via its guardian spirit.
The defense deck utilizes Gelidus, Awakened Klemis, Radgrid, Palanus, Son Goku, and Lu, remaining unchanged from last season. The addition of Awakened Klemis has noticeably improved the defense deck's survivability and endurance. Since you rarely face instant-death decks in the Rare grade, replacing Elysia with Son Goku to boost firepower and sustainability is a solid strategy.

Unique Grade Team Composition
4-Team Formations Begin; Swapping in Elysia for Defense
Starting at the Unique grade, the variety of Total War combinations expands significantly. You must now field four teams, adding an instant-death deck to the attack, magic, and defense decks used in the Rare grade. Managing your win rate at the Unique grade is crucial if you aim to reach the Legend grade.
The attack and magic decks remain largely similar to the Rare grade. If you haven't prepared Awakened Orca, Teo or Branz & Bransel are viable alternatives. For the magic deck, while Omok is a popular choice, you can also swap in Awakened Sylvesta to reduce the pressure on Freja. If you use Awakened Sylvesta, it is recommended to reserve Sylvesta in your skill settings to ensure the ascension skill triggers.
From the Unique grade onward, using Elysia in the defense deck is recommended. The reason is simple: since most players field instant-death decks alongside their other teams, Elysia’s ability to remove debuffs is invaluable. While you may lose some firepower by dropping Son Goku, this combination offers much greater flexibility.
The instant-death deck is composed of Mist, Kris, Nia, Rosie, Aquila, and Melpa. Rather than expecting a high win rate in every match, this deck is designed to reliably secure wins against specific opponents. Since the outcome depends heavily on Nia’s skill order and the flow of instant-death triggers, it is worth considering how much you want to invest in speed or effect accuracy settings.

Legend Grade Team Composition
5-Team Formations; The Final Team Varies by Hero Roster
At the highest tier, the Legend grade, you must field five teams. While the core of the attack, magic, defense, and instant-death decks remains similar to the Unique grade, the fifth team varies significantly from player to player. Because choices depend on your hero roster, exclusive equipment growth, and gear settings, there is no single 'correct' answer.
The attack, defense, and instant-death decks are identical to the Unique grade. The defense deck uses Gelidus, Awakened Klemis, Radgrid, Palanus, Elysia, and Lu, while the instant-death deck uses Mist, Kris, Nia, Rosie, Aquila, and Melpa. In the Legend grade, the average quality of all teams is vital; you need to balance your settings so each deck can fulfill its role rather than over-investing in just one team.
The remaining two teams are usually composed primarily of magic-type heroes. One team typically centers on Freja, while the other focuses on Sylvesta. If you have a deep pool of magic heroes, splitting your magic deck helps improve the overall quality of your teams. The Freja combination is usually fixed, while the second magic deck featuring Sylvesta varies based on the player's situation.
The second magic deck—the fifth team in the Legend grade—typically features Awakened Sylvesta, Melcure, and Rin as the core, with the remaining two slots often filled by Juri, Son Goku, or Teo. At the top level, the combination of Awakened Sylvesta, Melcure, Rin, Juri, and Son Goku is the most common. Juri introduces unpredictability, while Son Goku adds firepower and sustainability. Many players also swap Son Goku for Teo, and some rare variations use Colt to take advantage of the ally effect accuracy passive.
