Pawprint Studio announced on the 8th that its cross-platform open-world monster-catching RPG, Aniimo, will participate in the global game shows Summer Game Fest and Future Games Show. The studio will unveil new in-game footage and begin recruiting participants for a global beta test.
Aniimo is a cross-platform RPG centered on open-world monster catching and adventure. Players take on the role of adventurers, exploring the fantasy world of the Adel continent, encountering mysterious creatures known as 'Aniimo,' and embarking on their own unique journeys.
The game aims to be an open-world theme park that encompasses everything from natural ecosystems to urban lifestyle content. Through the unique 'Twine' system, players can experience diverse gameplay, including battles with Aniimo, fusion, inheriting special abilities, and exploring the world from an Aniimo's perspective.
The newly released footage provides the first look at 'Astra,' a new futuristic city map. Featuring a blend of vibrant neon lights and high-tech elements, Astra is designed as a hub for adventurers to live and learn, serving as a central space for players to communicate, interact, and forge new connections.
The 'Twine' system, a core mechanic of Aniimo, was also unveiled. Players can form deep bonds with their Aniimo to utilize their special abilities. Furthermore, players can explore the world from an Aniimo's perspective, immersing themselves in the creatures' daily lives and natural behaviors for a unique adventure.
Combat moves away from traditional turn-based systems in favor of real-time action. Players can freely switch between 'Go Mode,' where the adventurer commands and supports their Aniimo from the rear, and 'Command Mode,' where they use Twine to transform directly into an Aniimo to join the fray.
Aniimo will support cross-platform play across consoles, PC, and mobile. The game is slated for release on PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, Epic Games, Windows, Google Play, and the App Store, with the goal of providing a seamless, uninterrupted gaming experience across devices.
Recruitment for the global beta test began on the 7th, with the test scheduled to take place on PC, iOS, Android, and Steam. During the beta, players will be able to catch over 200 types of Aniimo, each exhibiting distinct behaviors tailored to their unique ecology and habits.
Alongside the test, an official creator program has been launched. Selected participants, including video creators, streamers, and social media content producers, will receive beta access and exclusive official creator rewards.
The Pawprint Studio development team stated that every Aniimo was meticulously crafted by the art team, with lifelike movements and environmental interactions designed to enhance immersion in the Adel continent. They encouraged players to join the beta test and experience the unique charm of Aniimo firsthand.
