Developing games, especially live service games, requires paying attention to countless details. From fighting against those who try to exploit game vulnerabilities for profit, to community management, and the translation work that must be done periodically for global service titles—while large corporations handle these in-house, it is practically difficult for small and medium-sized development companies to cover all of this. Meanwhile, Com2uS, famous among casual gamers for *Mini Game Heaven* and *Super Action Hero*, established Com2uS Platform and launched the 'Hive' service to resolve these concerns. Celebrating its 9th anniversary this year, Hive now boasts over 90 global partner companies and showcases a solid infrastructure featuring approximately 250 games. Com2uS Platform visited PlayX4 2026 to introduce its Hive service, which allowed us to interview Lee Ji-soo, Deputy General Manager at Com2uS Platform. Having previously worked at IGS, Netmarble, and Metanet, he currently supports platform business development and business collaboration for the Hive service at Com2uS Platform. We heard from him about an introduction to HIVE, its achievements to date, and its future goals. Com2uS Platform Deputy General Manager Lee Ji-soo ©INVEN Please briefly introduce the HIVE service. When developing game content, there are two major considerations: the frontend and the backend. The frontend refers to elements such as the characters visible as soon as the game launches, user-accessible content, and events, while the backend refers to payment logic and security. You can view the HIVE service as a service that handles the areas typically invisible to users, thereby relieving the burden on development companies. Many casual gamers remember Com2uS for 'Mini Game Heaven' or 'Super Action Hero.' What was the motivation behind planning and launching these services? There are not many companies that have such in-house services. As a result, developers often face difficulties managing games after development. Through Hive, we aimed to resolve these challenges for both developers and publishers by providing integrated and comprehensive services. A unique feature of Hive is that it aggregates all the functions a company needs, allowing them to select and use them at the right time and place. What has been the reaction from developers who have actually used Hive so far? There were many positive evaluations. Generally, backend work is often done after game development, and while the frontend is well-established, many developers complain about the difficulty of building the backend. Many say that using Hive makes the development process easier because it is configured to integrate SDKs and allow users to simply extract and use APIs. The service seems well-suited for global support. Since requirements vary from country to country, it is exhausting for developers or publishers to adapt individually. In such cases, entrusting it to Hive allows them to fully concentrate on development or service. There are particularly many difficulties regarding payment-related issues. It would be good to introduce some notable achievements among your domestic and global performance. "Taiwanese companies such as HappyTuk and D-Gim are utilizing the HIVE service when taking Korean games to publish. In the domestic market, seven or eight partner companies, including ThumbAge, Valofe, and Webzen, are continuing their global services using HIVE." "What are the strengths of the On-Demand pricing plan, which allows small and medium-sized developers to use it?" "As you mentioned, the On-Demand plan is designed for small and medium-sized developers. First of all, the most important aspect of this plan is that it has lowered the hurdle regarding usage fees." We allow developers to make additional payments only when the conditions are right for billing, enabling them to use the service without burden. It is free to use during the development process, and even after the game is released, the pricing plan is adjusted according to the game's circumstances. If revenue or user performance is poor, fees are reduced to ease the burden. What goals does HYBE aim to achieve by participating in PlayX4 2026? Com2uS Platform itself supports various solutions and third parties. In addition to HIVE, things like MMPs, payment gateways, AI, and server infrastructure are necessary for smooth game operation. We want to use HIVE as a central hub to effectively match these resources with developers and publishers. Our purpose for participating in PlayX4 is not only to promote HIVE but also to demonstrate our ability to act as a bridge between various third parties. While it is already a sufficiently good platform, are there any additional features or solutions currently or in the future that you are considering? As a result, we are continuously introducing AI-related features. By utilizing this, we are helping one person handle 20 tasks instead of 10. Please explain the mention of AI in more detail. There is a significant demand from developers for utilizing AI. They want to use it not only for QA and automatic translation but also in operational aspects. In the case of Hive, AI is integrated into translation and monitoring. When new content is added to a game, the AI automatically translates it to the local language. Additionally, the AI catches specific keywords in the market or community to identify issues, such as payment failures or login problems. Through this, we enable the operations team, along with the assigned PM, to provide services with minimal disruptions. Finally, please share a few words for developers interested in Hive. If you want to get more done easily and quickly, please find HIVE. If you have any questions, please let us know, and we will act as your intermediary to resolve them. We will provide significant assistance for smooth game operations, so please show your interest in HIVE.
