Nihon Falcom released its financial results for the second quarter of the fiscal year ending September 2026 (October 2025–March 2026) today (the 13th).

According to the report, revenue for the period reached 1.535 billion JPY (approx. ₩14.49 billion), and operating profit hit 969 million JPY (approx. ₩9.15 billion), marking year-on-year increases of 153.9% and 1216.4%, respectively. Net income was recorded at 689 million JPY (approx. ₩6.50 billion).

Nihon Falcom attributed this strong performance primarily to the release of 'Trails in the Sky the 1st' on September 17. A remake of 'Trails in the Sky FC,' the first entry in the company's flagship 'Trails' series, the title has been praised by users and critics alike for modernizing the classic JRPG feel of 20 years ago with updated combat systems, graphics, and presentation. It continues to receive acclaim, currently holding a 87 on Metacritic, a 90 on OpenCritic, and an 'Overwhelmingly Positive' (97%) rating on Steam.

While Nihon Falcom did not disclose individual sales figures for 'Trails in the Sky the 1st,' it announced that the series surpassed 9 million units in cumulative sales this past September. With sales growing by over 1.5 million units in just one year—up from 7.5 million in 2024—the company issued a commemorative dividend to mark this faster-than-expected growth. Additionally, titles such as 'Ys X: Nordics' outperformed expectations, contributing to the sharp rise in revenue and operating profit.

Driven by this growth and the development of upcoming titles, Nihon Falcom has upwardly revised its net income forecast for the fiscal year ending September 2026 (October 2025–September 2026) to 1.5 billion JPY (approx. ₩14.16 billion). The company also raised its revenue forecast to 3.6 billion JPY (approx. ₩33.98 billion) and its operating profit forecast to 2.2 billion JPY (approx. ₩20.77 billion).

Meanwhile, Nihon Falcom announced at the Taipei Game Show earlier this year that it is preparing seven new titles, including 'Tokyo Xanadu eX+' and 'Trails in the Sky the 2nd.' 'Tokyo Xanadu eX+' is scheduled for release on July 16, and 'Trails in the Sky the 2nd' on September 17, across PC, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation platforms.
