Yogscast Games has entered into a publishing agreement with independent studio Goodviewgames to bring Dicealot, an Arthurian-inspired roguelike dicebuilder, to PC later this year. The partnership pairs Yogscast’s track record of spotlighting indie hits with Goodviewgames’ ambition to reimagine the medieval push-your-luck title Farkle for a modern audience.
Farkle, also known as Greed, Hot Dice and Dix Mille, traces its origins to 12th-century Europe and has surfaced in video games such as Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Dicealot builds on the classic framework of rolling six dice to hit scoring combinations, choosing whether to bank points or press one’s luck at the risk of losing accumulated totals.

In Dicealot’s campaign mode, players assume the role of Queen Gwynevere on a quest to cure a bewitched King Arthur. Campaign progress unlocks power dice and quest-specific modifiers, enabling dynamic rule shifts and strategic synergies that extend beyond the core Farkle mechanics. These roguelike elements introduce procedurally generated rewards and branching paths, encouraging repeated runs to discover novel combinations and scoring potential.
Goodviewgames first showcased Dicealot at the GaMaYo conference in Yorkshire last November, drawing attention from Yogscast Games executives who saw promise in the title’s blend of luck-driven gameplay and narrative structure. The updated demo is available now on Steam, coinciding with the Camp Yog May Sale, and offers early access to the game’s evolving mechanics and adventure features.

Founded in 2017, Yogscast Games partners with indie teams to create titles that resonate with both players and spectators. Its portfolio includes PlateUp!, which has sold over two million Steam copies, and Dungeons & Degenerate Gamblers, which exceeded $1 million in first-month revenue. Established in 2024 by two long-time collaborators, Goodviewgames focuses on crafting character-driven, lighthearted titles designed to entertain and engage players with inventive mechanics and playful storytelling.
