RNG make some big roster moves, signing ADC Betty and Jungler xiaolongbao

Well into the off-season, RNG has finally announced what is to come for their 2020 season. On December 15th, they announced a whole slew of changes starting with the departure of two former members, Xiao "LoveZrr" Zhi and Shek "AmazingJ" Wai Ho, who both played top for the team.

With the recent departure of Hung "Karsa" Hao-Hsuan, the team is picking up Li "xiaolongbao" Xiao-Long from the LDL (LPL equivalent to LCS Academy). They're also bringing on former Flash Wolves ADC, Lu "Betty" Yu-Hung.

But don't fret, Jian "Uzi" Zi-Hao is staying on the team, as RNG announced his re-signing, along with Li "Xiaohu" Yuan-Hao and Shi "Ming" Sen-Ming. This keeps the bottom core for RNG steady, with these three having played together since Ming joined three seasons ago. RNG could replace one of their recently released top lane subs as well, but Xie "Langx" Zhen-Ying still remains on the team.

Their new jungler, xiaolongbao, comes from the LDL team Young Miracles, perhaps the most successful talent scouting/producing teams in the world. No, seriously. This team has helped raise Ming, Gao "Ning" Zhen-Ning, Zhuo "Knight9" Ding, and Gao "Tian" Tian-Liang, as well as many other LPL pros. Young Miracles also won the LDL Spring Playoffs this past year, so xialongbao is a strong prospect for RNG to have picked up.

Betty is the former Flash Wolves bot laner, of course, and one of the most well known throughout the world based on how often he shows up to the international tournaments. With the recent closure of the LMS region, and then even more recent announcement of Flash Wolves disbanding, Betty was free to join the team.

Though the LMS and the Flash Wolves haven't done as well recently, Betty is still a strong ADC. He is the second Flash Woves player RNG picked up, after Karsa, Betty's old teammate from a few years prior. It is unlikely that he would find a starting spot over Uzi, but Uzi is also known to take breaks during the regular season to stay healthy. Betty would be a more than capable replacement to keep the team at the top of the standings.

RNG will likely only see the one jungler change for the majority of the 2020 season, since the two top laners they released were mainly subs and Betty will likely remain as a sub for Uzi, but re-signing those core three is a great move for the team. These were three of their five who won MSI, and Langx performed extremely well last summer.

Only xiaolongbao is unknown, but if he and RNG can figure out their synergy and growth, they will remain a top three LPL team and can look to repeat their MSI run. And if all goes well, maybe Uzi can take another stab at winning Worlds. Let us know what you think of their roster on Twitter below!
