Valve has teased new Half-Life game and everyone is losing their heads

It's probably the most anticipated game in the world: Half-Life 3. After the final episodes left the fans with an incredible cliffhanger in 2007, fans waited for years. Following textbook psychology, gamers went through all stages of grief. At first, people wouldn't believe Valve gave up on them. Then people got angry. The bargaining followed, and after a long depression, all but a small core accepted that we'd probably never see Gordon Freeman in action again.

Until today.

Out of the blue, Valve has teased a new Half-Life game: Half-Life: Alyx, a game coming to steam VR. Everything but the game's name are still a mystery. However, we don't need to wait long to find out more: coming Thursday, at 10 am Pacific Time (7 pm CET), the Seattle publisher will share more details.

Community responses

Needless to say, the gaming community is going wild with excitement, and with memes. Valve has been notorious for not officially adding a "3" to any of their games, and the title "Alyx" to Half-Life isn't exactly ensuring either. Yet, most can't hide their excitement.
