The 2019 League of Legends World Championship has only just concluded, but Riot Games has wasted no time looking towards the future. Before the conclusion of the 2019 Worlds Finals post-game broadcast, it was announced that the Finals of Worlds 2020, which will take place in China, would be hosted by Shanghai Stadium.

The announcement was featured in a cinematic video with an augmented-reality Elder Dragon similar to the one used during  the 2017 World Championship opening ceremony, and follows a hooded figure through the cityscape of Shanghai. The figure is joined by more and more on his journey through the city until a massive crowd found itself in front of the Summoner's Cup in Shangai Stadium.

Riot Games has previously been subject to criticism in releasing dates and other information about the League of Legends World Championship later than a majority of the community may like, but the announcement for the 2020 Worlds Finals could not have come any sooner.
