[LCK Summer Day 26 Review] Griffin Defeats Hanwha, kt Rolster Wins SKT and Advances to 4th Place

On the 19th of July (KST), Griffin (GRF) defeated Hanwha Life Esports (HLE) 2:0 and kt Roster (KT) defeated SKT T1 (SKT) 2:1. With today's win, GRF stacked their 9th win of the season. Meanwhile, KT advanced to 4th place.

Griffin once again went with their signature non-ADC, aggressive early-game composition. Their bottom laner, Viper chose Swain and their support, Lehends went with Morgana. Although Rather was solo-killed by Lava's Zoe, GRF managed to gain the advantage by succeeding a mid dive. HLE’s composition was focused on late-game, but they failed to sustain. GRF snowballed quickly and finished the game.

Game 2 was another one-sided game for GRF. The start was HLE's five-man top dive. GRF countered it by using Shen's ult. Also, their Zoe joined from the side and pressured the opponent which made them fall back. After this, GRF started to dominate the game. They started to obtain most of the Rift objectives and closed down the series.

The second series for today was the matchup against KT and SKT.
Using classic ‘EU meta’ compositions, the two teams put up a competitive game on game 1. The game escalated when Faker used his ult and went for a surprise Baron. Unfortunately, KT wasn't able to stop them. The game suddenly snowballed to SKT and they soon won the game.

Game 2 started to snowball after Bang’s solo-kill with his Vladimir. KT’s bottom duo gave away the early-game advantage. This made Effort’s Pyke easily roam throughout the Rift. With the game one-sided, SKT soon went for the Baron. However, Score's Trundle managed to 'Bite' steal it. After the Baron steal, KT gradually gained some points and soon turned the tables.

The series went to game 3. With a successful mid gank and killing Faker's Vladimir, KT managed to gain the early-game advantage. Right after the gank, KT's bottom duo earned a kill in bot and soon Smeb managed to destroy the top tier 1 turret. The game became highly favorable for KT. By succeeding two more mid ganks, KT destroyed SKT's mid tier 2 turret. It was already one-sided for KT. Eventually, they secured the Baron buff and won the series.
