Oh BiBi has announced that it is ending development of Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble, the free-to-play mobile arena shooter set in Insomniac Games' science-fiction series and carrying PlayStation Studios branding.

In a notice posted on the game's official site on November 6th, the studio said it had "made the difficult decision to cease development." The final planned update began rolling out the same day on the Apple App Store and Google Play. New downloads will stop on November 21st, when the app is removed from both stores. Players who already have the game can keep playing until May 1st 2027, when the servers shut down for good.

What happens for players

After May 1st 2027 the game will no longer load, and all player data on the servers will be wiped, according to the FAQ on the official site. In-app purchases have already been turned off. The Super Pass is now free, and content can still be earned through play. Existing modes, matchmaking and competitive features stay up until the end of service, and Qwark Pass seasons continue through the same date.

Pre-registration rewards will be available to players who log in after the November 7th update, the FAQ says. Progress, purchases and unlocked items cannot be moved to another game. Refunds for past purchases, where they apply, go through Apple or Google. The studio said the shutdown does not affect other Ratchet & Clank titles or wider PlayStation services.

Where Ranger Rumble sat

Ranger Rumble was developed by Oh BiBi with Insomniac Games and PlayStation Studios named on the project. The site thanks players who spent time in the game, shared feedback and helped shape it during development. No further updates are planned after November 7th.
