Turnout for the 'Dawn of War 4' closed beta far exceeded expectations.
On November 2, KING Art Games shared the closed beta results for 'Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4' alongside a message of gratitude from the development team via a Steam announcement. The message was penned by Jan Theysen, Creative Director and co-founder of KING Art Games.
According to Jan Theysen, the five-day closed beta held last week was the studio's largest playtest to date, with participation more than doubling developer expectations. 80% of participants logged back in to play multiple times.
The developers stated that they received thousands of survey responses and are entering their final month of development before release based on this feedback. Jan Theysen added, "There is always work remaining, but I am confident we are on track to deliver a Dawn of War that was worth the wait."
Last week also saw dozens of media previews published, alongside hundreds of hours of gameplay videos uploaded by content creators. The developers also released their largest trailer to date during this period. Theysen added that player reception continuing since last year's closed alpha test has served as great motivation for the team, which has been building the game for nearly six years.
The team plans to share even more information over the remaining month. News for players who enjoy the unit painting feature will be shared soon, alongside upcoming updates on 'The Last Stand' mode.
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4 is an RTS developed by KING Art Games and published by Deep Silver, launching on PC (Steam) on December 3.
