Com2uS Holdings announced on November 3 that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with live streaming platform company SOOP for Full Motion Video (FMV) game initiatives. The two companies plan to expand their scope of collaboration from game development and publishing to global marketing.
The agreement builds on a previous tripartite contract signed by Com2uS Holdings, SOOP, and live-action interactive game developer Monster Guide. That contract aims to develop and globally publish a new FMV title, with the three entities combining their capabilities in game development, publishing, and content creation to showcase the new game.
Through this MOU, Com2uS Holdings and SOOP will jointly pursue the development and expansion of game IPs, as well as the planning of streamer-linked content. They plan to strengthen their strategic partnership, encompassing global marketing and market expansion.
The signing ceremony took place on October 29. Key officials from both companies, including Com2uS Holdings Head of Division Gyeonghyun Son and SOOP Head of Division Giseok Hong, attended the event to discuss the future direction of the business.
FMV games combine live-action footage featuring real actors with interactive elements where story developments change based on user choices. The two companies plan to integrate Com2uS Holdings' global game publishing capabilities with SOOP's streamer and fandom ecosystem into the game business.
Gyeonghyun Son, Head of Division at Com2uS Holdings, said, "Combining the capabilities of both companies will serve as an opportunity to enhance our market competitiveness in the FMV game business. We will deliver differentiated FMV games where streaming platforms and interactive content organically merge, creating new growth opportunities in the global market."
Giseok Hong, Head of the Social Streamer Business Division at SOOP, said, "This agreement will serve as an opportunity to expand the potential of streamer IPs into the gaming domain. Through our collaboration with Com2uS Holdings, we will strive to provide new content experiences to both streamers and users."
