GEEKS 2026 (Game, E-sports, Entertech Korea Showcase) will take place on December 11 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM in the Special Exhibition Hall (Lobby) on the 2nd floor of the National Assembly Members' Office Building. The event will showcase the works of young creators in gaming and digital content through a joint university graduation project exhibition alongside the GEEKS Awards finals presentation and ceremony.
The showcase is co-hosted by the offices of National Assembly Members Mo Kyeong-jong and Cho Seung-rae together with the GEEKS Organizing Committee, and is organized by the incorporated association K-Culture Forum. Under the slogan "Future of K-Culture," the event is designed to connect university creative and educational achievements with the industry, providing students and emerging developers a platform to present their work and exchange ideas with industry professionals.
Held alongside the showcase, the GEEKS Awards is open to K-content creators, including students, developers, and startups. Entries are accepted regardless of participation in the university exhibition, and submissions close on December 3 at 6:00 PM.
The competition is split into two categories: Games, and Esports / Webtoons / Digital Content. The Games category accepts completed games as well as storyboards, character/artwork, and game music. The Esports / Webtoons / Digital Content category covers related media content alongside AI, metaverse, and platform technologies.
Works that have won awards in other competitions may also be submitted as long as their previous award history is listed on the application. For commercialized titles, current service details—such as launch dates and monetization status—must be included. Entries that pass the initial evaluation round may receive opportunities for finals presentations and booth demonstrations. Winning teams are scheduled to receive certificates, prize money, and mentoring, with specific details regarding awarding institutions, prize scale, and evaluation schedules for 2026 to be announced separately once finalized.
The joint university graduation project exhibition offers a space to introduce and demonstrate student-developed games and digital content. Creators can present their projects and observe user reactions firsthand, while attendees can interact directly with developers to explore design goals, production processes, and technical implementation.
Universities preparing submissions include Kyung Hee University, Kongju National University, Dankook University, Dong-Seoul University, Dongyang University, Tongwon University, Baekseok Arts University, Sangmyung University, Shingu College, Osan University, Incheon Jae Neung University, Chungkang College of Cultural Industries, and Hansung University (Hansung Design Art Center).
Kim Jung-tae, professor at Dongyang University and chairman of the K-Culture Forum, stated, "The ambition and experimentation of young creators form the core of K-content's future competitiveness. We will make GEEKS 2026 a launchpad that connects fresh, university-born works with the industry and helps the next generation of talent grow."
Detailed announcements regarding the event schedule and entry submissions are available on the official GEEKS website.
