Nintendo announced on its official website on the 2nd that it has released a demo for 'Pikmin 4 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy'. Nintendo also presented a 'Pikmin Day Direct' featuring Pikmin news on November 1, celebrating 'Pikmin Day'.
In the demo, players can play the early stages of the Pikmin 4 main game until collecting 1,500 energy. In the new mode 'Dandori Academy', players can play an introductory stage to learn the basics and two exam stages, including 'Mushroom Mash' and 'Snack Delivery'.
On Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays following the launch date of the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, players can also take Dandori Exams in the demo. Stage practice is available at any time. Demo save data will carry over to the full game. Although the release date of November 12 falls on a Thursday, players will exceptionally be able to take exams on that day.
Clearing the demo unlocks a Mii costume in the smartphone app 'Pikmin Bloom' that gives the feeling of riding Oatchi. A new feature called 'Secret Caves' will be added to Pikmin Bloom this winter. In this mode, players defeat creatures inside caves to collect treasure. Cave maps are occasionally attached to postcards, and players who play Dandori Exams in the Switch 2 Edition can earn special cave maps.
The ticketed event 'Pikmin Bloom Journey 2026 in Kobe' for Pikmin Bloom will take place on November 21 and 22. As the first Journey event in Western Japan, participants can visit famous Kobe landmarks like Kobe Port Tower and Nankinmachi to meet the 'very timid Blue Pikmin'.
The short film series depicting the daily life of Pikmin, 'Hello! Pikmin', has currently released up to episode 2. One more episode will drop in November, followed by monthly episode releases thereafter.
Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can redeem Pikmin icon elements through Platinum Point rewards until November 29. The icon elements will rotate weekly over four weeks.
