REMIMORY has delayed the release window of its survival game in development from the second half of 2026 to 2027, while revealing new housing themes and a four-stage development roadmap.
The roadmap for Castaway Diary: Portal to the Unknown Isles consists of a playtest, demo, Steam Next Fest, and Early Access release. The first stage, the playtest, is scheduled to take place on Steam in Q1 2027, with applications opening alongside an announcement once the build is complete.
The developers explained that after opening the Steam page in April, they received more interest from global players than expected. They stated that the release schedule was adjusted to achieve a level of polish that meets those expectations.
The newly teased housing options include a 'School Theme' and a 'Maid Cafe Theme'. In addition to the basic housing introduced in the first trailer, costumes tailored to each theme will also be prepared. The new themes can be seen in the released screenshots and trailer, with further details to be announced via official notices.
Castaway Diary: Portal to the Unknown Isles is an anime-style survival sandbox game following the adventures of girls stranded on an unknown island. Supporting online co-op multiplayer for up to four players, users can develop the island together or clear dungeons. In addition to exploration using mounts and defeating monsters, the game is designed to feature gathering, fishing, cooking, housing, and farm management. It also includes character customization using player-crafted costumes.
Supported languages will be expanded in response to requests from global players. Traditional Chinese and Russian have been confirmed first, with the possibility of supporting additional languages in the future.
The REMIMORY development team said, "We apologize for delivering news of a delay to those who have been waiting for the game, but we will return with a game good enough to repay your great interest and patience." They added, "We plan to continue working hard on development while communicating with players through our Steam Community page, so please continue to support us."
