PONOS announced that a limited-time collaboration event with River City Ransom in The Battle Cats will be held starting at 11:00 AM on the 2nd.
This collaboration features character gacha and limited stages themed around sports day events. According to PONOS, The Battle Cats surpassed 120 million downloads last October.
The 'Hot-Blooded! Big Sports Day' gacha for obtaining characters is divided into the Red Team and Dark Team. By using the 10+1 draw, players are guaranteed to obtain 'Kunio-kun' from the Red Team and the new Uber Rare character 'Ryuichi' from the Dark Team.
The limited stages are structured according to their rewards and gameplay format. Players can earn XP in 'River City Ball-Rolling' and items such as Rare Tickets in 'River City Challenge Course'. 'River City Relay' provides a large amount of XP once per day, while 'River City Three-Leg Race' is a stage where players compete 2-on-2.
Limited-time special missions focused on 'River City Cat Clash' are also taking place. During the event period, a login stamp campaign will be held where players can receive in-game items such as Rare Tickets every day.
Renegade is a title first released as an arcade game by TECHNOS JAPAN CORP. in May 1986. Since then, games featuring the main character 'Kunio-kun' and his rival 'Riki'—such as Super Dodge Ball, along with River City Ransom and Downtown Nekketsu Koushinkyoku: Soreyuke Daiundoukai developed for the NES—were released, and Arc System Works currently continues the franchise.
PONOS is a game content developer based in Kyoto, Japan. Handling both development and publishing at its headquarters, the company conducts global operations centered around The Battle Cats.
