Ludo Robotics, the robotics research subsidiary of KRAFTON, Inc., has revealed Ludi 0.2, an AI system for robots designed to communicate and collaborate with humans. The company also officially opened its headquarters research lab in Palo Alto, California, which will conduct AI and robotics research alongside its Seoul office.
Ludi 0.2 was presented on October 30 (local time) at the 2026 Bay Area Robotics Symposium (BARS) held at UC Berkeley in the United States. Kangwook Lee, Chief AI Officer (CAIO) of KRAFTON and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Ludo Robotics, delivered the presentation. A successor to Ludi 0.1 released in August, the new system enhances the ability to understand human intent and react to changing situations.
Ludo Robotics places Social Intelligence at the center of its research, developing AI for robots that adapts to changing environments and collaborates naturally based on an understanding of human intent.
In Ludi 0.2, capabilities to respond to human intent, feedback, and social cues have been sophisticated, alongside enhanced memory and reasoning functions that maintain context and make decisions even when tasks change. The integration of tool manipulation, which links navigation, object manipulation, and interaction capabilities, has also been strengthened. Features for understanding and responding to human gestures, as well as moving smoothly and flexibly within designated environments, were also improved.
The foundational Ludi 0.1 utilizes a structure where a Vision-Language Model (VLM) handles dialogue and reasoning, combined with specialized capabilities for navigation and object manipulation. It understands voice instructions and conversational context, confirming ambiguous requests through follow-up questions. It is designed to handle task changes within a designated environment—such as stopping mid-motion to fetch a different drink when asked to switch orders, and delivering the updated request instead.
Ludo Robotics is also developing Ludi 1.0, a next-generation foundation model that integrates environmental perception, dialogue, and physical action into a single unified model. It focuses on realizing robots that communicate and act in real time while sharing an understanding of tasks with humans.
The Palo Alto lab serves as the company's headquarters research hub in California. Ludo Robotics plans to conduct research in tandem with its Seoul office while expanding exchanges with Silicon Valley's talent and technology ecosystem.
CH Kim, CEO of KRAFTON and Ludo Robotics, stated, "For nearly 20 years, KRAFTON has created virtual worlds that interact in real time through games. Building on this experience, we will continue to develop AI for robots that naturally communicate and collaborate with humans in the physical world."
