Chucklefish has announced that magical life simulation Witchbrook will officially launch on January 28, 2027, local time. Supporting online co-op for up to four players, PlayStation 5 (PS5) has been added to the launch platforms.
The release platforms include PC, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5, with a simultaneous launch planned. The title will also be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one. A total of 10 languages will be supported including Korean, along with English, French, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
Witchbrook is Chucklefish's fourth in-house developed title, with Robotality participating as a co-developer. Kakehashi Games will handle publishing in Japan and Korea, while Chucklefish acts as publisher for all other regions.
The game is set in the seaside town of Mossport. As a witch-in-training at Witchbrook College, players learn alchemy, astrology, tarot, rituals, and more as they prepare for graduation. New spells can be acquired by building knowledge through classes and assignments and passing exams.
Outside of academics, players can build friendships or romance with residents, or run a business helping townspeople with magic. They can also participate in club activities and seasonal events, or enjoy birdwatching, bug catching, and fishing. Players can decorate their woodland cottage and garden and customize their character's appearance with clothing, hair, and accessories—all of which can be enjoyed together with friends in online co-op.
Chucklefish revealed the release date alongside a new gameplay trailer at Nintendo's Indie World. The video captures student life, including attending classes, casting spells, preparing for exams, conducting library research, crafting ointments and potions, and reading tarot. Magical creatures appearing in the game were also revealed for the first time, along with new screenshots and key art.
