SEGA Publishing Korea (hereinafter SEGA) announced on the 28th that it has collaborated with Gugenka to release a total of 55 items in the second wave of the HoloModels digital figure lineup in Korea.
The new lineup is divided into 45 main HoloModels figures and 10 expansion animations. The main figures allow users to view characters in various outfit versions, while the expansion animations provide unique character movements and dedicated voice lines.
HoloModels is a service for viewing official digital figures of anime and game characters using devices such as smartphones. Users can freely adjust the figure's pose, expression, and size. Using a smartphone's AR feature, users can also project figures outdoors to take commemorative photos alongside the characters.
This lineup is the second Korean wave following the initial launch in March. Participating anime IPs include Love Live! Sunshine!!, Black Clover, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, SSSS.GRIDMAN, Gridman Universe, and Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-.
Partner company Gugenka is an XR creative studio that showcases Japanese IPs globally through XR technology. Through this lineup, SEGA plans to provide domestic subculture fans with an opportunity to collect and enjoy characters in a digital environment.
A SEGA official stated, "We are pleased to continuously present high-quality digital merchandise to domestic users through our collaboration with Gugenka, which has recognized XR technical capabilities in the global market," adding, "Going forward, we will continue to focus on expanding into diverse subculture content beyond console and PC game distribution."
