NC's MMORPG Throne and Liberty (TL) conducted a routine update on October 27. In this update, Skill Core drop rates across major content were buffed, and decision criteria for defense-ignoring damage and fixed damage were overhauled. Adjustments were also applied to weapon skills and equipment effects.
Skill Cores now have increased drop opportunities in Tumgir, the Abyss, and Co-op Dungeons. In Co-op Dungeons, if a Core does not drop, Resin Cores are awarded. Schedules for Boss and Guild content have also been adjusted in line with global service integration.
A Skill Core rework scheduled for November 11 was also teased. The system will shift from imprinting Cores onto gear to registering them to a character and equipping them in dedicated slots. Registered Cores can be equipped or unequipped at no cost, and new Resin Flower crafting recipes will be added to guarantee acquiring desired Cores.
Core Drop Rates Increased; November Rework to Introduce Dedicated Slots
Drop rates for Skill Cores and higher-tier Cores were increased in Tumgir and the Abyss. Core drop rates were also boosted for Rift Chests, while Co-op Dungeons now feature higher drop rates for Cores and higher-tier Cores, alongside awarding Resin Cores when none drop.
On November 11, new Skill Cores and acquisition sources will be added. Higher-tier Core drop rates from Resin Flowers will also be increased, though this change will not apply to existing Resin Flowers. New crafting recipes allowing players to guaranteed-acquire desired Cores will also be added.
On the same day, the Core equipping system will be overhauled. Once a player registers a Core to their character using an item, it can be equipped and unequipped for free in a dedicated slot within the skill menu. Skill Core sets that allow switching combinations will also be added. To activate effects, players must equip Unique equipment alongside Cores matching that equipment category.
Cores for Archboss-line targeted weapons will change to be obtainable as rewards from weapon acquisition achievements. Cores currently equipped on existing Unique gear will be unequipped and sent via mail, while Archboss-line Cores will be recalled and the original equipment returned as non-tradable. If a player already owns an eligible weapon or receives one through this change, relevant achievement and Core registration statuses will be reflected accordingly.
Imprinting and extraction functions, as well as the supply of related materials, will be discontinued. Owned Imprint Scrolls will be converted at a rate of 1.22 million Sollant each, while Extraction Scrolls will be converted into 5 Precious Marind Ores, 5 Refined Catalysts, 2 Adventure Coins: Indomitable, and 1.22 million Sollant each.

Separation of Defense-Ignoring and Fixed Damage; Weapon and Equipment Effect Adjustments
Damage mechanics were separated into defense-ignoring damage and fixed damage. Defense-ignoring damage is unaffected by Defense, Skill Damage Boost, or Skill Damage Resistance, but remains affected by Critical/Heavy Hit Damage, Bonus Damage, Damage Reduction, and similar stats. Fixed damage is unaffected by any stats once its value is set.
Accordingly, tooltips describing fixed damage for Sword Core 'Veil Breaker', Greatsword Core 'Fissure', and others were corrected to state damage that ignores Evasion and Defense. For Dagger Core 'Foreseen Pain', explanatory text clarifying that it deals unavoidable fixed damage was added without altering its actual effect.
Actual effect adjustments were also applied. For Greatsword 'Spike Dash', the charging damage increase specialization now stacks its Damage Boost effect up to 2 times. For Dagger Core 'Venomous Swamp', an issue where the per-second trigger limit was not applied to Venomous Blade damage was fixed, and for Crossbow 'Mortal Mark', accumulated bonus damage that was higher than intended was adjusted.
For Longbow 'Mark of the Abyss', the Hit Increase specialization and the Potential Ability's Critical Increase effect were adjusted to apply to party members. Staff Core 'Dark Cloud' can now be blocked using Defense Skills. While Dark Cloud itself cannot be evaded or cleansed, Evasion stats apply to the subsequent falling lightning bolts.
Regarding equipment, PvP maximum HP proportional damage for Giant Brook's Lightstar Sword and Snow Spirit Sword was changed to 2.5% and 3.5% fixed damage per second, respectively. For Snow Spirit Sword, base continuous damage was also increased from 132% to 144%.
For Ancient Beast's Darkbone Blade, the chance-based damage dealt was increased from 400% to 550% of Base Damage, and for Last Dragon's Thunderstorm Dagger, bonus PvP damage against targets at or below 50% HP was increased from 2.5% to 3% of the target's HP. Both effects apply as unavoidable fixed damage. For Queen Blendi's Flaming Fist and Lightstar Gauntlets, internal cooldowns for the pull effect were added at 34 seconds and 18 seconds, respectively.

Additionally, screen freezing, disconnections during world movement, and a bug causing time limits in Tumgir Vault to be extended were fixed.
