Where Winds Meet will reveal its new region, 'Hutuo', in an update on November 14. To mark the first anniversary of its global release—including Korea—on November 15, celebratory events will also be held.
NetEase Games and its subsidiary developer Everstone Studio will introduce a story set in a war-torn Jianghu, new combat content, and two board game modes in this update. They stated that the first-anniversary event will offer both new and existing players the most generous in-game rewards since launch.
The story of 'Hutuo' explores the meaning of chivalry in a war-scarred border region. Players will encounter refugee processions, northern invaders crossing the border, and the bloody battle at 'Zhongdu Bridge' fought against them. Through various characters—such as soldiers disobeying orders and righteous individuals sheltering refugees—players can experience the realm of Jianghu amidst war.
For combat content, a new boss encounter, 'Hutuo River', featuring a battle against Khitan general 'Xiao Han', will be added. New world bosses 'Tian Aike-Bingxian' and Khitan shaman 'Yelu Abuli' will also appear. The 'Dual Spears' style, overseen by martial arts director Yuen Woo-ping—who worked on Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon—utilizes offense-focused light spears and counterattack-specialized heavy spears. Players can swap weapons using dedicated dual-weapon skills to execute high-speed combo attacks.
The board game modes consist of 'Horse Racing Chess' and 'Jianghu Tactics'. In 'Horse Racing Chess', players become the pieces themselves, rolling dice to race. 'Jianghu Tactics' is a strategic mode where players compete using roster composition, equipment allocation, positioning, and round-by-round synergy effects.
Where Winds Meet plans to introduce the 'Hutuo' battlefield, gameplay breakdowns, and details on the global first-anniversary event during a special preview stream in November. The broadcast will be released on the official Where Winds Meet YouTube channel.
An offline event to meet Korean players is also scheduled. Where Winds Meet plans to participate in G-STAR 2026, which opens on November 19, holding audience events at its hands-on booth in Exhibition Hall 2.
