H2 Interactive (hereinafter H2 INTERACTIVE) announced that "The Siege of Castle Doom," a new DLC for the Korean version of MARVEL Cosmic Invasion, will officially launch on November 11. Supported platforms are PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2, and a new overview video was also released.
The DLC adds a run-based action mode where players progress through challenges attempt by attempt. By gathering Battery Cells and completing challenges, players can acquire upgrades from a total of 12 perks to enhance defense, attack power, or tactical abilities.
The stage for the challenge is a fortress built by Victor von Doom. The player's goal is to breach the fortress's defense lines and stop him before the Cosmic Inductor is activated. Designed to stop Annihilus, this weapon possesses a fatal flaw that threatens to drive the entire universe into apocalypse. Each time players survive combat, a stabilizing device developed by Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four charges up, serving as the key means to thwart Doctor Doom's plot.
When invading the fortress, players must choose their path and buffs along intricately connected routes. Traps installed throughout the castle, Doom Bots, and bosses from the base game stand in the player's way. Regardless of path and perk choices, as the Siege Gauge fills, enemies grow stronger. If the gauge becomes full prior to the final battle with Doctor Doom, the attempt immediately fails, so players must reach him before that happens.
Completing a challenge permanently unlocks new equipment and events in Reed's Lab. Modifiers that increase challenge difficulty for greater rewards in future attempts are also unlocked. Conversely, failing challenges applies a debuff to the player character.
Fantastic Four's Susan Storm and Doctor Doom join as new playable characters. Defeating Doctor Doom unlocks new color palettes for all playable Super Heroes. An original soundtrack composed by Tee Lopes is also added.
