Unlike conventional magician clans, the "Kobato Mart" clan is not restricted to any specific district. Operating throughout all of Tokyo, the clan also differs from traditional ones in that it consists of four members. On the surface, they disguise themselves as a small convenience store chain, but in reality, they broker stolen goods—including secondhand artifacts and various antiques—for underworld magicians. Taking on numerous contracts while walking a tightrope between legal and illegal, they are a true clan of villainous magicians.
Store manager Hatogaya Tsubasa is well-regarded by local residents for her community-friendly demeanor, always greeting customers with a warm smile and leading her staff to actively participate in neighborhood events. However, she often lectures her employees on her personal philosophy that "a convenience store isn't just a place to sell things, but a place to deliver love." While this hardworking, model, and thoroughly lovable girl-next-door image is a front, her true identity is that of a shadowy broker in Tokyo's underworld, dealing in stolen goods ranging from secondhand artifacts to all manner of antiques, and even providing "manpower" for client contracts when necessary.
Kumagaya Rion calls himself the fastest part-timer at Kobato Mart. In truth, he is a seasoned brawler who survived the back alleys using nothing but his trained fists—a trait Tsubasa valued highly when she personally recruited him to Kobato Mart. Calling himself a "lone wolf," he is also a fool completely intoxicated with his own self-image. Though he spent his whole life fighting with his fists, working at a convenience store surprisingly suits him well, and he commits himself to his duties as a clerk more diligently than anyone else. He is also a huge dessert enthusiast who can't resist anything sweet.
Tokorozawa Matoi, a girl Tsubasa suddenly brought back from a business trip one day, is a clerk at Kobato Mart and a reckless fighter who loves to run wild. Acting purely on whim from day to day, she rarely listens to others and has a troublesome personality, always insisting she is right. She holds a wild mindset, habitually declaring that she won't listen to anyone weaker than her and that "I'll beat up anyone I don't like." In short, she is a troublemaker whose everyday behavior strays far beyond common sense. However, she trusts and follows store manager Tsubasa as the leader of the pack, considers Sae to be a decent person because she feeds her despite nagging, but views Rion as a fool weaker than herself.
The final member, Kawaguchi Sae, serves as Kobato Mart's accountant and works as a Tsukumogami practitioner. Although a student at a prestigious all-girls school, unavoidable circumstances left her saddled with massive debt. While struggling to pay it off, she was recruited by Tsubasa, who recognized her abilities. She acts as the brain of Kobato Mart, seeing right through loopholes in laws and regulations and skillfully exploiting them. In contrast to her sharp tongue, she is the first to look out for the Kobato Mart members, earning deep trust from her colleagues. Aside from that, seeing her trade sarcasms with rough underworld magicians without backing down an inch makes this young lady arguably the most naturally suited for the underworld out of all the members.
