IG defeated Hanwha Life Esports to move to 2-1. Returning to the Worlds main stage after a long time, IG was the subject of a remarkably unlucky draw—facing Gen.G first and then Hanwha Life Esports today—but proved they are a formidable team by taking down HLE.

Regarding the victory over Hanwha Life Esports, IG's 'Rookie' Song Eui-jin said, "We faced Gen.G in the first match, and after winning our next match, we were matched against Hanwha Life Esports at 1-1. It was definitely not a good draw, but at Worlds, wins and losses seem to be determined a lot by environmental factors. We came in believing that if our condition was good, we could definitely win."
On preparing for the Hanwha Life Esports match, he said, "Hanwha Life Esports became even more aggressive after 'Kanavi' joined. On the other hand, they had an LPL-like feel, which made it a familiar matchup for us, and I'm glad we fought well and won." When asked how it felt to compete at Worlds in the United States for the first time, he stated, "It's been a long time since I attended Worlds, and since it's in the US, I found myself getting nervous, even though I usually don't. However, with today's victory, I feel like I've overcome that, so I'm looking forward to the next match."
Lastly, he concluded the interview by saying, "It's been a while since IG has been at Worlds, and we're working hard. Please give us a lot of support, and since our games are entertaining, I hope Korean fans enjoy watching them too. We will work hard to always repay you with great performances."
