A new interactive horror game based on the universe of Warner Bros.' flagship horror film franchise 'The Conjuring' will be released on Netflix.
On October 7, Netflix released the official trailer for the new interactive narrative horror game 'The Conjuring: Unspoken' on its official YouTube channel and announced that it will officially launch on October 13.
The title was developed by British studio Supermassive Games, a leading developer in the cinematic interactive horror genre known for 'Until Dawn,' 'The Dark Pictures Anthology,' and 'The Quarry,' in collaboration with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
Set in a quiet, eerie old English inn called the 'Red Lion Inn,' 'The Conjuring: Unspoken' tells the story of a family tormented by an ancient demon. Players investigate the incident from the perspective of demonologist 'Francesca Noakes'.
Notably, the game runs on TV apps or web browsers via Netflix's cloud streaming feature without requiring a separate console or dedicated controller, utilizing the player's smartphone directly as both a controller and a paranormal investigation tool. Using their smartphone, players operate real occult investigation equipment—such as an electromagnetic field (EMF) reader, an infrared camera, and a spirit box (frequency audio receiver)—to track traces of the evil spirit and make life-or-death choices for the characters.
'The Conjuring: Unspoken' will be available exclusively to Netflix subscribers on October 13.
