All four LPL seeds for the 2026 LoL World Championship have been decided.
In the final 4th seed decider match of the LPL Worlds Regional Qualifier held on the 19th, JDG—who had previously defeated WE 3-1—faced off against IG for the final Worlds spot. IG emerged victorious with a 3-1 win to secure their qualification as the 4th seed. The 1st seed goes to AL, the 2nd seed to BLG, the 3rd seed to TES, and the final 4th seed to IG.
This year's 1st seed was claimed by AL rather than BLG. Much like BLG, AL is a team capable of playing fiercely contested series against top LCK teams, featuring player lineup additions such as 'Tarzan' Lee Seung-yong and 'Kael' Kim Jin-hong, and delivering memorable battles against T1 at last year's Worlds.
In the LPL Split 3 Grand Finals, BLG defeated AL 3-0 in the upper bracket final to advance directly to the grand finals. However, AL defeated IG 3-2 in the lower bracket and met BLG once again in the grand finals, winning 3-1 to claim the championship title alongside the LPL's top Worlds seed. As a result, BLG secured the 2nd seed, while TES defeated IG 3-1 in the Regional Qualifier to claim the 3rd seed.
In the final battle for the 4th seed today, the match between JDG and IG concluded with a 3-1 victory for IG.
Game 1 was a tightly fought contest from the early phase. Although IG stacked three dragons first, the gold difference was only around 1,000 gold through the 25-minute mark. However, IG maintained pressure and secured Baron, subsequently claiming the Dragon Soul to seal their momentum, destroying JDG's Nexus at 33 minutes to take the opening game.
In Game 2, IG jungler 'Wei' controlled the Rift early on with Qiyana to push IG far ahead. By the 25-minute mark, the global gold lead expanded to approximately 7,000 gold, and IG comfortably secured the Dragon Soul and Baron for a smooth victory to go up 2-0. In Game 3, JDG held the early-to-mid game initiative, but the momentum shifted after IG won a mid-lane teamfight and took Baron. JDG fought back in subsequent teamfights and objective contests to win Game 3 and make it 1-2. Finally, after a hard-fought Game 4, IG took the win to defeat JDG 3-1, officially qualifying for Worlds and ensuring LPL veterans 'Rookie' Song Eui-jin and 'TheShy' Kang Seung-lok will return to the World Championship stage.
