Supercell's mobile game Brawl Stars is partnering with global mobile learning platform Duolingo for a collaboration event.
The collaboration features a crossover where both companies' iconic green characters—Spike from Brawl Stars and Duolingo's mascot Duo—appear in each other's apps. The event runs from September 19 through September 30, with Duo appearing in Brawl Stars' Starr Park and Spike popping up in Duolingo lessons.
In Brawl Stars, a new 20v1 Boss Fight mode will be introduced featuring Duo as a boss. In this mode, 20 players team up in cooperative combat against an increasingly powerful boss set against the backdrop of Duo's classroom. Answering quizzes presented during battle correctly awards players with rewards, while incorrect answers inflict damage or result in elimination from battle.
A community-wide "Daily Assignments" event will also be held. Players can complete daily lessons in Duo's classroom and pass a final exam on the last day of the event to earn limited-time collaboration rewards.
Over on Duolingo, a limited-time "Streak Quest" featuring Spike will take place. Users can complete daily lessons to keep their learning streak going while progressing through the quest. Completing the challenge unlocks Spike in Brawl Stars.
Ahead of the collaboration, Brawl Stars Korea and Duolingo Korea teased the partnership on social media platforms like YouTube and TikTok with content showcasing the rivalry between Duo and Spike.
"This collaboration is a crossover that allows users to experience the unique qualities of each service in a fresh way as the flagship characters of Brawl Stars and Duolingo cross into each other's worlds," said Byung-jun Choi, Korean marketing lead for Brawl Stars. "We hope players enjoy a new kind of fun bridging both apps through various events featuring Duo and Spike."
