Arc System Works Asia announced on the 17th that it has released the roguelike belt-scroll action game "Absolum Nintendo Switch 2 Edition" in both physical and digital formats.
'Absolum' highlights what it calls "belt-scroll roguelike action," combining side-scrolling beat 'em up action with roguelike elements. Built around fast-paced combat and combo controls, the game is structured so players encounter new enemies and battles with every playthrough. It also features over 100,000 characters of narrative, along with animation and music.
The game is set in 'Talamh,' a world on the brink of collapse following a cataclysm. Players experience the journey of Uchawi, a wizard who formed a resistance against the tyranny of Sun King Azra, alongside her fellow heroes. Players can choose from characters with distinct combat styles, including Galandra, who uses a greatsword and necromancy; Karl, who fights with a blunderbuss and bare fists; the wizard Brom; and Cider, a mysterious warrior.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition supports enhanced performance and high resolution utilizing the hardware's capabilities. It offers local two-player multiplayer using 'GameShare,' and supports both local and online co-op play.
Existing Nintendo Switch version owners can download the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Upgrade Pass from the Nintendo Store and Nintendo eShop. The game supports Korean subtitles.
