Targem Games has unveiled its new action roguelite 'Star Conflict: Burrownauts' and is accepting applications for an upcoming playtest.
'Star Conflict: Burrownauts' is a game set in the 'Star Conflict' universe that combines resource mining with fast-paced bullet-heaven combat. Players explore the interior of ancient planetoids to collect rare resources, upgrade their ships, and defend their base from hostile space forces.
The game features a contrast between calmly exploring planetoid interiors and battling enemies that attack the base. Throughout progression, various elements from the existing universe, including ships and technology from 'Star Conflict', appear within a narrative centered on mining, dangerous expeditions, and finding traces of lost civilizations.
The goal of each expedition is to survive amid various hazards and protect gathered resources. As missions become more challenging, players must upgrade their ships, manage the condition of various systems, and battle bands of space bandits.
Applications to join the playtest can be submitted on the game's Steam page. A specific start schedule has not been disclosed, and applicants will receive a notification when the test begins. There are no restrictions on streaming, posting gameplay videos, or publishing reviews for participants.
