Clouded Leopard Entertainment will launch the first free update for the life simulation game 'Village in the Shade' on the 29th.
This update adds 11 types of camping furniture and new livestock, including Silkie chickens, mallards, fluffy cows, and spotted goats. Each piece of content becomes available upon fulfilling specific conditions, such as acquiring a hunting license, reaching a certain season, or purchasing existing livestock.
A farmland expansion feature that allows players to purchase additional farmland is also introduced. In Quiet Mode, players must accept the shrine restoration request from Tobari and purchase all previously available farmland expansions, while in Peaceful Life Mode, Nago must be residing in the village and all existing farmland must be purchased.
The furniture catalog is a feature that allows players to reorder furniture they have purchased at least once from general stores or street vendors. Ordered furniture is delivered to the mailbox the following day. The related event triggers only after reaching the fall of the first year and having a history of purchasing furniture.
The second free update is scheduled for release on October 28. That update will include events such as the protagonist's birthday. Paid DLC containing additional systems, scenarios, maps, and one-off events is also planned for spring 2027, with details currently under review.
Developed by Nippon Ichi Software, 'Village in the Shade' is a life simulation game set in a cozy rural village where players can raise crops and livestock, enjoy fishing and hunting, and interact with residents. It is available on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 5.
