On September 10, the Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association (CESA) unveiled key pre-opening details for 'Tokyo Game Show 2026 (TGS2026),' including exhibitor scale, venue maps, stage events, and official broadcast schedules.
A total of 1,138 companies—540 from Japan and 598 from overseas—will participate in TGS2026. A record-high 53 countries and regions are represented, spanning 3,999 exhibition booths. The event will take place at Makuhari Messe from September 17 to 21, running across five days for the first time this year.
The venue consists of Exhibition Halls 1–11 and the International Conference Hall at Makuhari Messe, along with the newly added TKP Tokyo Bay Makuhari Hall. Outdoor spaces will feature a food court and cosplay area. The official website provides an interactive 3D map allowing visitors to check locations by zone.
On September 17, starting with the opening ceremony at 9:30 AM, events will include a keynote speech addressing TGS's 30-year history and the future of Japan's gaming industry in 2056, a Twitch stage focused on live communities, and the 'Tottori Game Show' featuring JR West and creator Hajime Tabata. On September 19, talk stages will highlight the past and future of major game series celebrating their 30th anniversaries. On September 20, the 'Japan Game Awards 2026 Future Division' presentation ceremony will take place, selecting highly anticipated upcoming titles through attendee votes and judging. Key programs will be broadcast worldwide via official channels.
Special 30th-anniversary programs will also be featured. At the venue, over 60 official merchandise items utilizing the main visual by illustrator Zashikiwarashi and artwork from digital artist group ANIMAREAL will be available. The outdoor food court will introduce commemorative menu items alongside a mobile ordering system based on LINE Mini App.
Five new creator teams, including musician Takao Suzuki and VTubers Rei7 and Otora, have joined the official ambassador group 'TGS BOOSTERZ.' With these additions, the full lineup of 30 creator teams is now complete.
The second episode of the official news program 'TGS NEWS STUDIO' will air at 7:00 PM on September 11. The broadcast will cover venue maps, schedules, 30th-anniversary projects, and official merchandise details.
