A new feature connecting external AI to 'Mabinogi Mobile' will allow players to check game information and delegate gathering and crafting.
On September 9, Nexon announced the 'Mabinogi Mobile AI Connector (Beta)' on the official Mabinogi Mobile website. The feature links player-provided AI tools with the game, and during the beta period, it will first be provided on PC, where access to AI tools is easier. Supported AI tools include Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini CLI, Windsurf, Kiro, and OpenCode.
To use the Mabinogi Mobile AI Connector, players must install a supported AI tool on their PC and activate the AI Connector under 'Settings - Game' in the game menu. The client automatically detects the installed tool and registers the connection information. It is disabled by default and can be turned off at any time.
However, AI usage fees are borne separately by the player based on usage. Minors may require legal guardian consent, and the notice specifies that in such cases, players should check the policy of the respective AI provider.
The functions performed by the AI Connector are divided into 'Ask' and 'Delegate'. 'Ask' checks stats, location, weather and time, currency, inventory weight, quests and daily/weekly missions, nearby NPCs and players, materials, sheet music, instrument lists, and more. Players can get answers simply by asking, without having to open game screens one by one.
'Delegate' is a feature that allows the AI to gather up to a target quantity or move to facilities to craft items. It also supports checking processing progress, receiving finished items, changing music playback/instruments, and stopping actions. Movement for gathering, processing, and crafting consumes 'Wings of the Spirit', and to prevent idle play, continuous use requires responding to a confirmation prompt every hour.
The announcement also clearly defined areas that cannot be delegated to the AI agent. Features such as marketplace listing and purchasing, growth-related auto-play, payments, and cash shop access are not supported by the AI Connector. Additionally, guild expulsion and appointment, sending 1:1 direct messages, discarding/dismantling items, and linking to external messengers or SNS are impossible. Furthermore, it operates only while the player is logged in and will not log in on the player's behalf. General chat can be typed by the AI on behalf of the player, but it is sent only after player approval and displays a distinct AI icon.
Regarding data protection, Nexon stated, "While you can check the status of nearby players, information directly written by Adventurers will not be transmitted to the AI tool." Character names, guild names, and chat logs are excluded, while party or guild relationship information is transmitted without names.
Regarding future plans, Nexon explained, "Newly added features will be unlocked sequentially after thorough verification." In addition, quality-of-life features—such as increasing the base quantity for gathering searches when using the in-game 'How to Obtain' feature, automatically retrying when entering dungeons without regional quests, and Abyss retry options—will be added in the same update even without using the AI Connector.
