Riot Games will introduce a new communication system and overall quality-of-life improvements in late October through the 2026 Season 3 Act 2 update for League of Legends (hereafter LoL).
Today, on the 9th, Riot Games announced the latest patch plans for its PC MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) game, League of Legends. The core highlight of Patch 26.20, scheduled for October, is the "Team Voice" system, which expands the voice feature previously available only to premade parties to the entire team. After being introduced first to the North America and Oceania servers, rollout to global regions including Korea will be evaluated based on performance. To prevent disruptive player behavior, players below Honor Level 3 will only be able to listen to team voice chat, with their ability to speak disabled.
The revamped "Ranked 5s" mode will introduce a "Strategic Draft" feature that allows players to check in advance the champions frequently picked by the opposing team. League of Legends: Classic (hereafter LoL Classic) will significantly improve the game environment based on active player feedback. In addition to enhanced lighting and map textures, IP and XP gain rates will be increased, two additional Rune Pages will be granted, and Rune purchase prices will be lowered. Furthermore, the champion release pace will be accelerated to sequentially introduce Poppy, Galio, and Fiora to Classic mode.
2026 Season 3 Act 2 is designed with music as its core theme, an element that can be experienced through the "ARAM: Mayhem" mode. Upon entering the battlefield, a new system activates where a music group appears to introduce various match variables. Additionally, new Augments will be added: "Beeees!!!", which attacks opponents by throwing beehives, and "Get Jinxed", which lets players ride atop Jinx's rocket. The update will officially go live in late October, with detailed information available through the official website and social media.
