On September 9, Nexon released a cinematic teaser video for 'TEMPPAL: OVERGEARED', a new MMORPG under development by Gray Games.
The 40-second video showcases the game's world through the first-person perspective of a sword, a core weapon. Through scenes of characters facing a giant monster alongside companions wielding various weapons, it teases large-scale, gear-centered combat.
'TEMPPAL: OVERGEARED' will be published by Nexon and is scheduled for release within 2026 across PC and mobile cross-platforms in South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. Starting in October, Nexon plans to sequentially reveal development updates and key content through its official teaser site and YouTube channel.
The new title is based on 'Overgeared', an IP adapted as a web novel and webtoon. It adds traditional MMORPG elements to gear-centered progression, highlighting character growth and large-scale competition as its core content.
According to Nexon, the original IP recorded a combined total of 1.3 billion views for its web novel and webtoon on KakaoPage in South Korea. The web novel was completed in April 2024, while the webtoon is currently being serialized on KakaoPage.
