Lost Ark kicked off Paradise Season 4 with its regular update on September 9.
Paradise Season 4 will run for a total of 14 weeks from September 9 until maintenance on December 16. As before, Elysian and Crucible start at Stage 3 in the first week and unlock one stage per week, but a new variable has been added to the descent system in Hell and Abyss this season.
The biggest change is the new descent point encountered in Hell. Every 10 floors, a new option appears between the existing left and right descent points. Selecting it randomly triggers either a "Grand Descent" that plunges up to 20 floors at once from the current location, or an "Ascent" that moves players back up by up to 5 floors.
Additionally, a bonus system has been introduced in Hell and Abyss where dropping by the same interval of floors consecutively awards bonus Gold and Silver. While previous seasons up to Season 3 focused solely on reaching the deepest possible floor, Season 4 allows players to aim for extra rewards depending on their descent results.
Drop 15–20 Floors at Once! 'Grand Descent' Added to Hell
The most noticeable change in Season 4 is Hell's new descent point. As players progress through Hell, a new descent point appears in the center between the existing left and right points on every 10th floor. Selecting this point yields one of two results.
When "Grand Descent" triggers, players move 15 to 20 floors below their current floor. Conversely, if "Ascent" occurs, they move back up 1 to 5 floors from their current position. The probability of moving to each possible floor is equal.
For example, if a player selects the new point on Floor 30, with good luck they can plunge straight down to Floor 45–50, but with bad luck they could end up climbing back up to Floor 25–29. It adds an option that carries both the opportunity to descend rapidly to deeper floors and the risk of taking a loss.
Even if players return to an already visited floor via Ascent, monsters and altars do not respawn. Therefore, it is impossible to repeatedly obtain rewards by using Ascent itself.
A new "Consecutive Descent Bonus" has also been added to Hell and Abyss. If players descend by the same interval of floors 3 or more consecutive times, additional rewards appear on the destination floor. Rewards consist of Gold and Silver, which drop directly on the ground.

Elysian and Crucible Retain Existing System, Two Season 4 Orbs Added
The basic seasonal structure of Elysian and Crucible remains largely unchanged from Season 3.
With the start of the season, entry counts for Elysian have reset to 5, and Elysian consists of a total of 10 stages. Up to Stage 3 unlocked on September 9, with one additional stage opening each week after maintenance. Crucible also features a total of 15 stages. Players can progress up to Stage 3 in the first week, after which one stage unlocks weekly. Along with the launch of the new season, Season 4 Crucible rankings have also begun anew.
There are a total of two Orbs of Paradise in Season 4. They can be obtained by clearing Crucible Stages 3 and 6, respectively. Notably, the system has been updated so that when a new season starts, Orbs from 3 seasons prior to the current season are removed; thus, Season 1 Orbs were deleted at the launch of Season 4. Highest records for Hell have also been converted to seasonal records. Going forward, instead of previous seasons' highest Hell records remaining indefinitely, record competition will reset with every new season.
There are changes on the equipment side as well. The Resonance Effects applied to each of the 6 Relics of Paradise have been replaced with 6 new effects. As players re-farm and upgrade Relics in Season 4, they must build different Resonance Effect combinations compared to previous seasons. Season 4 will run for 14 weeks until December 16. This is one week shorter than Season 3's 15 weeks. Following the unlock of Elysian Stage 10, an item that restores Elysian entry attempts will be added in the November 11 update.
